In 2017 the Legislature adopted a bill establishing Juneteenth as National Freedom Day in commemoration of the Emancipation Proclamation on the third Saturday of June. Measuring up to 64-acres, Lake Elmo State Park is a must-see when you visit Billings, Montana. It is a great place to swim, boat, fish, birdwatch, or enjoy a family picnic while admiring the beauty of the place. Stretch your legs while having a stroll on the 1.4-mile nature trail or stop by the shore to fish from Roger's Pier. One of the special features of Lake Elmo is its 200-square-foot fenced-in area Dog Park. It includes a water area and is situated in the western part of the lake. Each visitor is only allowed to bring in a maximum of two dogs.
